STATUS/ACCOMPLISHMENTS We continue to be on track for a good Internal Mission Definition Retreat (MDR) on December 3-5 at GSFC. Although a challenge at times, I thank the entire team, including the Instrument organizations, for their effort in preparing for the meeting. Marvin Roush (SDO Reliability), along with SDO Systems have done an excellent job developing a preliminary SDO reliability block diagram & associated estimates. We are already using Marvin's work to help define & improve the reliability of the SDO architecture. Barry Murphy & Toni Hegarty continue to make good progress in developing the SDO Intranet which will house/perform our configuration management (CM) system, library, action items, documentation, schedules, etc. This is in addition to our Public Web Site (http://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov) that Jennifer Rumburg & Barbara Thompson are brining to "life." We are in the process of finalizing the SDO Integrated Independent Review Plan in response to the GSFC GPG. This plan details our process with the GSFC Systems Management Office (SMO) and mentions how GSFC SMO & the HQ appointed Independent Review Team (IRT) will work together (Note: HQ is responsible for the IRT charter). I welcome to the SDO Team: Mark Walters (Flight Software Lead), Marsha Gosselin (CM), Kevin Hughes (Verification Eng.), Scott Pursley (Subsystem Data Node), Amri Hernandez-Pelle (Subsystem Power Node) & Gary Davis (Propulsion) who will be taking the hand-off from Scott Glubke after the MDR. I thank Scott Glubke for his outstanding effort & wish him well in his new GSFC job. The SDO Holiday Party will be December 18 in the GSFC Project office area. Thanks, Ken "Ten strong horses could not pull an empty baby carriage if they worked independently of each other." John Wooden Hall of Fame Basketball Coach GO RAVENS!
