STATUS/ACCOMPLISHMENTS This week, SDO's Project Management staff spent two days conducting our monthly Project Status Review (cost, schedule, technical) with each SDO subsystem lead. Element to element schedule links and budget verses actual cost were reviewed, in preparation for the SDO AETD Champion Team meeting set for July 24. The Project also had two meetings with the GSFC Resource Analysis Office to provide additional information needed for their independent cost estimate. The systems team is in the final stages of incorporating and reviewing updates to the SDO Mission Requirements Document (MRD), which is planned for distribution next week to the SDO team for review and comment. Final review of the SDO data capture budget is being completed prior to submission to the configuration change board for baseline CM. Subsystems teams are in the process of submitting initial responses to the SDO SRR/SCR RFAs in preparation for the upcoming ICR meetings next month. The systems team is continuing to work with the power group in updating the power budget, solar array sizing and spacecraft power requirements. In addition, the systems team has been updating the allocations to the SDO Observatory alignment, pointing and jitter budget. The systems, parts, radiation, and C&DH team are working closely to investigate radiation-driven parts application issues in the Ka-Band science data design, looking at alternate parts as well as design mitigation approaches. Finally, the Software team has submitted the 1553 interface ICD and is in the process of reviewing with the SDO team. We received the Concept Study Reports (CSRs) from the instrumenters and have distributed to appropriated SDO team members for review and evaluation. The CSRs represent a significant documentation of instrument requirements, plans and management procedures and will be very useful references as we prepare contract documentation for the B/C/D/E contract phases and SDO confirmation reviews. The instrument systems team is in the process of assembling and generating the HMI Instrument ICD and preparing for a technical coordination meeting with HMI in late July. The results of this effort will provide a significant amount of common content for the other instrument ICDs. As Ken mentioned last week, GSFC/NRL/HMI will participate in the e2v CCDs and RAL camera electronics peer reviews on July 16 & 17 in the UK. The Ground System team submitted a draft copy of the science commanding protocol to the Project System Engineers and the spacecraft designers for review. In the area of Configuration Management, the CCR to baseline the Single Board Computer SOW was approved this week.
