The team completed the SDO Mission PDR charts which went to printing on Thursday. The package consists of 900 slides which will be covered over 3 days (March 9-11). Thanks to the entire SDO team for a job well done. A special thanks to Brent Robertson, Dennis Hewitt, Paula Everson, & the systems team for creating an outstanding & well integrated package. A true test to Paula's integration/review magic is that we don't have to work over the weekend to pull the package together. We are also making good progress on the NAR/Programmatics splinter package which will be presented to the review teams on 3/12. In addition, we met our commitments in supplying the IRT & GSFC's RAO with proper inputs for their cost estimates in support of the confirmation review process. LMSAL also successfully conducted their AIA Instrument accommodation PDR. In the area of EPO, we completed draft panel designs for the Planet Walk Sun Station. We are also finalizing activities to support the Sun-Earth Day Celebration at the Chesapeake Children's Museum (CCM) in Annapolis. Over 100 Girl Scouts have signed up for this event. Collaboration with SECEF confirmed that CCM is now a partner in this international event and will be included in the synopsis of activities on the official web site. We completed the SDO video, "A stepping Stone to Space Weather Forecasting" that will be shown at the PDR. Finally, I want to thank the entire SDO team for a terrific 2+ years. We started with ideas and we now stand at the Mission PDR. Along the way we built a great team, established excellent relationships with our customers, and made outstanding progress while making smart decisions. The Center & HQ often refer to us as a model Project - please keep up the great work. We all know that times will often get tough, but with SDO's foundation & teamwork I know the team will plow thru. As I move onto the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) Preparatory Project (NPP) and Liz Citrin takes over SDO, please give her your full support. I know that Liz will do an outstanding job and be a great leader on SDO. Our transition will happen after the PDR, so this is my last weekly. SDO team, you moved a mountain for me and I am forever grateful. Ken "Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."
