The final approval step is signature by the Chair of the HQ DPMC, planned to be obtained next week. The change incorporates the new launch date of August 2008, and the resulting increase in the mission cost cap. In addition, the modification removes reference to a secondary payload for SDO. _Detailed Reports: _The redesigned AIA Camera Electronics Box (CEB) mounts were received and successfully vibration tested with the mass model CEB. The modification to the mounts provided significant damping and reduced the loads on the CEBs. The AIA Structural Model has been reassembled and is being prepared for delivery to GSFC with an expected test start date of September 12. An AIA alignment, I&T, and mass simulator TIM was held at GSFC with participants from the SDO program, LMSAL, and SAO. The meeting was very useful and covered a broad range of I&T topics. Rutherford Appleton Laboratories (RAL) are at LMSAL this week delivering the DM1 and DM3 Cameras to Lockheed. The DM1 and DM3 cameras contain the flight configuration with the 6 volt CCD drivers cards that eliminate the droop effect seen in the4kx4k CCDs. HMI has received 4 flight CCDs shipped from e2v. Four Hollow Core Motors (HCM) have completed bakeout and are starting characterization testing. The three remaining HCMs have completed their characterization testing and are now being baked out. The HMI Alignment Mechanism has started bakeout. The ground system continues development and all subsystems. A presentation was made this week to the Head of Code 583, the Mission Planning Branch (the result of an RFA from CDR), by the SDO ground system giving an in depth account of how the MOC plans to perform this function. The meeting went very and Code 583 agrees that SDO has no problems or deficiencies in this development. ___________________ Elizabeth A.
