This week, the SDO Project Monthly Review was held in conjunction with our AETD "Champion" Review. The meeting, to discus budget, schedule and technical progress was attended by our HQ Program Executive. Following the review, the SDO Management Team traveled to Boulder to attend the EVE Quarterly Review of instrument progress. The LASP team continues to make good progress on all fronts. _Detailed Reports: _GSFC hosted an AIA instrument thermal blanket closeout technical interchange meeting on Tuesday, October 18 with participation SAO, LMSAL, and SDO. The blanket TIM was very productive containing discussion and resolution of many issues; including, contamination, grounding, blanket design, and mechanical fastening. The SDO Systems team held an internal Failure Detection and Correction (FDC) review on October 17, which provided a walkthrough of the SDO FDC implementation details for the SDO team. This will be followed by a formal FDC Peer Review in early November. Members of the spacecraft team attended the Propellant Tank Design Conformance Review (DCR) and High Gain Antenna CDR. Columbia University successfully coated the second half (94A) of AIA's secondary mirror #1 and will coat the second half (94A) of primary mirror #1 this week. This first pair of optics will then be taken to Brookhaven National Laboratories for calibration measurements. HMI held a Monthly Status Review with the SDO project this week, and statused their progress in the integration of the flight HMI Optics Package (HOP). HMI is on target to have the HOP integrated and all the test support equipment and software in place to conduct the first sun test in November 2005. The High Altitude Observatory (HAO) in Boulder, Colorado has completed work on the Polarization Calibration Unit (PCU) used in the calibration and test of HMI. HAO will deliver the PCU to LMSAL at the beginning of November to support the sun tests. In the area of Education and Public Outreach, SDO's Living with a Star Exhibit was installed at the Chesapeake Children's Museum in Annapolis. The "grand opening" will be on November13th.
